Midway Plantation
In August of 2005 we moved the Big House and four outbuildings to a new location 3 miles north of Midway's original site. We were able to start renovation and new construction at
Midway in January 2006 once we had competed the renovation work at Beaver Dam. We moved back into the house in October 2006.
There are exciting Move Photos of the relocation activities that include hauling the 280 ton Big House across the countryside and through an active quarry and finally resting her on new
foundations at a peaceful location.
Under Renovation Photos we have chronicled the entire new construction and restoration process that followed historical guidelines and
includes faux painting to match period samples from the 1850's.

Beaver Dam Plantation
William Hinton built Beaver Dam Plantation in 1810. The home, listed on the National Register, is located at the crossroads of Forestville, Smithfield,
and Horton Roads in Knightdale, NC. William is the brother of Charles Lewis Hinton who built Midway Plantation. Midway was midway between the Beaver
Dam and the Oaks Plantations.
Hinton Land, LLC, managed by Charles Hinton Silver, Jr., purchased Beaver Dam in June, 2005 and completed the renovation in December. Beaver Dam is home to
Hinton Land, LLC, M. Silver & Company.
We plan to share Beaver Dam as a historic gathering place celebrating the heritage of Knightdale, Eastern Wake County and North Carolina.
